A systematic review of school-based interventions targeting social communication behaviors for students with autism

Initiating and responding to peers are social communication behaviors that pose challenges for students with autism. The paper reviews intervention studies conducted in mainstream primary schools that have focused on these behaviors and reported on the outcomes of the interventions as well as the resources required to implement them. A total of 22 studies met the inclusion criteria.
