The article is an attempt to answer the question whether the current state of research on communication in children with autism allows you to distinguish the typical ones at each stage of the child’s development abnormalities that occur in children diagnosed with autism or risk of such disturbances in the future. It is important from the therapeutic point of view that at every stage of the child’s development we can identify the above-mentioned abnormalities as soon as possible and, as a result of the diagnosis, immediately start appropriate therapy
